Infinite Possibilities of Gangneung where Business, Culture and Tourism meet.
The special exhibition Chang Ucchin: A Life in Dialogue will be held at the Gangneung Art Museum (Solol). Chang Ucchin (1917–1990) was a prominent figure in modern and contemporary Korean art who captured Korean sentiment and the inner world through familiar motifs found in ordinary life. This exhibition highlights the “dialogue” the artist sustained between the external world and his inner self through familiar motifs such as houses, trees, and people. Through a wide range of works—including paintings, ceramic paintings, and ink drawings—the exhibition explores the values of “nature, life, and line,” while introducing the artist’s simple yet profound artistic world.
